The CWC consists of a u-shaped trough manufactured from 16-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a cover the entire length except for the inlets at the fine screen discharge.
Screw is the shaftless design, 6.25” diameter, manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel. The screw rests on a UHMW liner in the bottom of the trough. The conveyor trough also has a 2” diameter coupling in the lower end for liquid drain back to the influent channel, the conveyor is sloped at about 5-degrees up to the discharge, to allow excess water to drain back into the screen box or inlet channel as the screenings are transported to the discharge end.
The wash zone consists of a 2-ft long section of wedgewire screen mounted over a drop box between the upper and lower section of UHMW liner with a 1” diameter drain pipe to carry the water to the screenings box or influent channel. There are four stainless steel spray nozzles spaced 4” apart mounted in the trough cover directing spray down into the trough.

The compactor is a Type 304 stainless steel perforated cylinder welded to pieces of keystock that position it concentric to the screw. A hinged door made of Type 304 stainless steel plate with an all thread rod holds screenings in the compactor.
The drive is a direct drive helical gear reducer driven with a 1/3 HP motor and mounted on the upper end plate at the discharge end. The upper end of the trough has a discharge chute bolted to the flanged trough outlet.

Except for the discharge chute, the unit is completely shop assembled prior to shipment. The CWC operates automatically with the fine screen operation and the wash zone turns on and off via a solenoid valve installed in the water supply line.
